Named after a dog who lived in Old City (you'll get the whole story when you call in), Bahdeebahdu is located in a former garage building in Kensington South, which is well off the usual shopping track. The studio/gallery space is a partnership between interior designer RJ Thornburg and artist Warren Muller, who creates his light sculptures and chandeliers on site from found or recycled objects like car parts, musical instruments and cutlery. There's also a selection of furniture and art by local designers, including the collective MONA. Prices are high (Muller's work ranges from about $1,000 to more than $25,000), but even if you aren't buying, it is worth the trip to get the inside track on the local design scene.
